Hi, I'm David!

I’m a counsellor, social worker, and a proud dad. I started Solidarity Coaching and Counselling because I love walking alongside people as they gain more insight into themselves and make positive change in their lives.

Despite being a counsellor I avoided counselling for years in my twenties because I thought I could figure it out on my own. When I finally relented and got help I experienced healing in areas I didn’t even know were wounded, and it enabled to conquer bad habits that had dogged me for years.

My approach is structured, goal-focused, and conversational. I’ll help you identify the root of your problems, and find new ways of thinking and being that help move you towards your ideal self.

My Approach

Hybrid Coaching-Counselling

I use a hybrid coaching and counselling approach. Counselling tends to focus on the past and processing experiences and emotions and coaching focuses on goal-setting and solutions. I lean towards a coaching approach but can switch between either mode depending on your needs.

Tracking Results

We’ll track your results. I will help you to monitor your progress weekly so you can see when you are improving. Research shows this practice greatly improves chances of success.

Staying Active

We can walk or do activities while we talk. Many people feel more comfortable talking side by side then seated directly facing someone in a small room. Walking stimulates brain activity and being outdoors promotes overall well-being adding value to each session.

Joking Around

I love to laugh, and joke around. Life is too short to be serious all the time. I can laugh at my own faults, and the absurdity of life and encourage you to do the same.
